Upright is a series of photographs of vertical paper sculptures that explores the idea of resilience through the awareness of one's own strengths. The vertical form is not only a visual characteristic but also a metaphor for an inner state. The sculptures achieve stability through their structure, just as people become more grounded and confident when they rely on what is strong, natural, and authentic within themselves.

Each person possesses a unique combination of strengths. Their interplay is always individual, much like the forms in this series: no sculpture repeats another, yet all are held together by an internal logic of construction.

The title Upright carries an additional meaning. Beyond referring to a vertical position, it also suggests honesty, integrity, reliability, and sincerity. This dual meaning reflects the central idea of the series: resilience emerges through being truthful to oneself, recognizing one's own strengths, and learning to rely on them.

The project is not about perfection, but about accepting and developing what already exists within us. It explores the moment when an inner structure becomes clear enough to hold its form, suggesting that lasting strength does not arise from universal formulas but from a deep understanding of our own unique combination of qualities.

Upright reflects on a universal aspect of human experience: what makes us resilient already exists within each of us, waiting to be recognized and revealed.
